Super Mario Maker:

It's been 3 decades since the Mario is saving the queen and to celebrate the 30 years of super mario Nintendo complied all of the Super Mario series which includes Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World and let the user design their own levels and upload it to the online community for everyone else to play. Sound fun isn't it? but for me I didn't think about designing the levels all I was interested was just to play the game which rocked my childhood.

To be clear Super Mario maker are two things first A design tool and second its a 2D game. Even though I am not into designing games as I would probably suck but this Super Mario Maker really attracted me into designing the levels. It's just not only fun but also it is so simple and interactive to use the whole interface. You can combine the skins from all of the Super Mario games and make your own level.

It is a simple interface where you can drag and drop items from the menu bar into the environment. Copying, dragging, deleting and drawing obstacles or platforms in the Wii U is really easy and efficient. Once you start placing level's obstacles and platforms little background elements pop up adding color and variety to the scenery and also there is an undo "dog" button and a restart "rocket" icon. You'll even get flies swarming around the screen if you let the game idle for too long.

Another  cool thing is that you can also add pre-recorded sound to make mario more humorous and also add visual effects to the custom stage that has never been used in any mario games. For example you want a "beating heart" sound while passing through a scary hallway or a "ding" when you hit something.

Everything is really easy to understand, implement and experiment with, which  makes creating custom stages more fun, effortless and efficient. Usually, the games which has the feature of designing stages are troublesome and players tend to be more into game play but in this Super Mario Maker designing is a focus so that players have a fun time both designing and playing it, also sharing the complexity or simplicity of a stage with other players all around the world.

There are some limitations like you can't add a check point and also the more you play with the designing you feel like you are out of things you cannot do. There are also dimensional limits like if you want to build something focused on a long, vertical free-fall, rather than a horizontal jaunt, you're out of tools.

You have to start with a limited set of  tools and items when you first start the maker. To unlock more tools you have to play with the unlocked tools for about five minutes and then you'll get an on-screen message saying the next unlock is queued up for delivery..the next day. Come back the next day, play for five more minutes with your new toys, and the next set of items will queue up for another next-day delivery. Although I think it is a long week process to keep unlocking new tools and experiment with it but somehow it is easy to bypass this obstacle just by turning your systems clock in advance which gives you quick access so than you don't have to wait for one day long.

Super Mario Maker is a game of fun creation and awesome surprises. You have the freedom to apply your ideas on the stage and try them out .Not mentioning that you can also try other players custom stages both easy and tough which will give you ideas how to jot down your thinking. Even the in-game instruction is fun to watch with nice animation and with mixture of great sense of humor in writing. In short, Super Mario Maker is a great designing and a 2d platform which not only brings your childhood memories with that theme music but at the same time let's you create the game itself and challenge yourself.
